You can start your day with a traditional Spanish breakfast: white bread toast coated with virgin olive oil, topped with tomatoes and optional serrano ham. A coffee and a just squeezed natural orange juice. The perfect yummy combination to kick off your day!

After discovering some of the Palaces of Seville, it’s time to have lunch. Bear in mind that Spanish lunch is served from 2pm to 3.30 pm. Anyway you can start your lunch at 1pm –but remember, part of experiencing as a local is do what Sevillanos do. So let’s go for  some tapas and get the taste of Seville.

Seville is the best place to taste from mouth-watering traditional tapas to outstanding innovative ones. It doesn’t matter if you’d rather go for a dash of culinary innovation or a classical one, you can’t miss out spinach with chickpeas; cod with tomato sauce, pork cheeks or fried fish (pescaíto frito).

Around 5 - 6 pm you’ll probably feel like having a coffee, an ice-cream or maybe trying churros with chocolate.

And for dinner, we’ll show you different alternatives depending on the palace you’ve visited. Maybe you want to keep on traditional tapas or a fancier dinner.

Going to food markets is another good plan if you want to cook your own food. Fresh vegetables and fruit are provided on a daily basis, as well as fish, seafood and other groceries. Being part of Seville’s busy routine is another way to discover the city!

Just check the plans proposed on the different palaces pages.

Here’s some helpful vocab to help you experience Seville’s cuisine like a local:

  • Tapa /'tahpah/: it’s basically a small plate with a small amount of food (an appetizer). Ideal if you wanna try different recipes or bars. Let’s tapear (go for tapas).

  • Ración /rathee'on/: it’s a large plate of food. The perfect choice to share your meal with others.

  • Media ración /'medja ra'theeon/: half a ración and bigger than a tapa. Order this if you are not too hungry.

  • Caña /'kanyah/: small glass of draft beer. Cruzcampo is Seville’s beer, check it out!

  • Cuenta /'kwentah/: this is the bill. If you want to order the bill, just say la cuenta, por favor. Tipping is not compulsory.

  • ¿Cuánto vale? /'kwanto 'valeh/: how much does it cost? Useful question to ask for prices.
